Dermabrasion Equipment
Dermabrasion equipment has be specifically developed to refinish and resurface damaged skin. This equipment is designed to scrape away the outer layers of skin so that a smoother layer of new skin can naturally replace it.
The most essential piece of dermabrasion equipment is the hand-held scraping tool that is used to abrade the skin. This scraping tool comes in two forms: one has a rough wire brush head and the other is affixed with a rotating wheel containing diamond particles. The former has more of a scraping effect, while the latter offers a sanding effect.
Both forms of dermabrasion tool are widely used by surgeons to wear away scars, wrinkles and tattoos and both produce similar results when it comes to unearthing beauty that lies underneath skin imperfections.
Dermabrasion equipment is most effective when operated by a board certified plastic surgeon. Plastic surgeons are specifically trained to operate this equipment and often they have years of experience in the field of dermabrasion.
Micro dermabrasion equipment, on the other hand, offers a much less drastic result so often it can usually be operated by aestheticians and plastic surgeons.
Unlike dermabrasion, micro dermabrasion involves the removal of minor imperfections over a prolonged period of time. The latter procedure doesn't require anesthetic, it doesn't cause scabbing and usually it can be done in half an hour.
The micro dermabrasion machine that is most widely used is a hand-held sandblasting and vacuuming device. This device blasts dirt and dead skin off the surface of the skin with a powerful stream of fine table salt or aluminum oxide particles, then it sucks all of this loose dirt and skin back up into the device leaving the skin with a healthy glow.
Although there is little risk associated with micro dermabrasion it is always best to have the procedure done by a professional rather than to attempt to use at-home micro dermabrasion equipment.
Dermabrasion and micro dermabrasion equipment has been responsible for improving the skin condition and the self-esteem of countess people. If this equipment used correctly the results can be truly astonishing. |
