Answer: I am a marine wife and I know people waiting for breast augmentation. The military does offer such surgeries but there has to be a medical/psychological need, and the doctors performing are new and needing practice..

Answer: Yes, it is true. It's free except in the case of breast augmentation-you have to pay for the implants themselves. You get the surgery free if you are active duty or the immediate family member of an active duty serviceman. As far as I know you do not need to provide any psychological reason to get any cosmetic surgery unless you are wanting Tricare to pay for the surgery, including implants, and want to have the surgery performed by an off-base doctor. The plastic surgeons in the military want practice for when their services are needed in the case of breast reconstruction as a result of cancer, etc. or as a result of combat damage. Hope this helps |

Answer: that is false I have lots of friends in the military that have gotten surgery. They were even doing the surgery as an experiment on some bases for active duty members. |
